Anti-inflammatory and antiseptic especially for upper respiratory tract; used externally for skin ailments, analgesic; spring tonic.
Medical Uses
Bark and the leaves are mildly diuretic, expectorant and stimulant.
Inner bark is harvested from side branches & dried for later use such sa boiled down to syrup for coughs.
Leaf buds used as a salve for colds, coughs and irritated nostrils.

Spring through to fall.
